Someone stole a whole truckload of beer! Sweetwater Brewing based in Atlanta was robbed of nearly 3,300 cases equating to 78,528 bottles yesterday and now they need your help finding the beer robbers.
Here’s how it happen, the two trailers were ready to deliver to one of their retailers, according to Sweetwater. Someone then hooked the tractors to the trailers and pulled off, Sweetwater says the beer amounted around $90,000.
“This takes us down to incredibly low inventory,” Tucker Berta, SweetWater spokeswoman, said Tuesday afternoon. “We’re going to have to work overtime to keep these beers on the shelf.”
Due to GPS, Atlanta police were able to locate both of the trailers, one found near Camp Creek Parkway and the other Southwoods Parkway. Neither had beer bottles in them.
What’s even worse, if the beer is found it has to be recycled.
“It’s the saddest thing,” Berta said. “That goes into recycling. At this point, we can’t sell it. We can’t say what happened to the beer since it left our dock.”
