A night out with your guy is fun, and going out with a group of coed friends is fun too. However, these pale in comparison to going out with your girls. This is the time where you can dance, gossip, flirt (in my case, attempt to flirt, but fail miserably), and anything else that you’d like to do. In Atlanta, there’s a lot of places for the ladies to have a drink and have fun. Of course, every lady circle is different. But here are 7 places to have your Girls’ Night Out, no particular order:
1. The Ivy Buckhead
The Ivy is one of the bigger bars in the line of Buckhead bars on Roswell Rd. This is perfect for the post-grad party scene. The bar itself used to be an old mansion, so it’s beautiful on the outside and on the inside. The food has always been good, and the drinks were good too. This would be a good place to start the night, where you can stumble over to Hangovers or Park Bench. Also, it’s a great place to relive your college days without the pressure to get #whitegirlwasted.

2. Krog Bar
Krog Bar is a tiny little bar across the street from Krog Street market. I actually went here for a girls’ night out at Krog Street a few weeks ago. It’s in a well developed area right off of the Atlanta Beltline, so it’s going to become a hot spot in the next few years. Probably one of my favorite things about this place is the wine selection. I know, super girly. But whatever, it’s never the wrong time for the right wine.

3. Tongue and Groove
Tongue and Groove is one of the many clubs in the Atlanta area, but this one really caters to the girls with their cocktails and lounge atmosphere. This isn’t a club where it is all-night raging like Opera, it’s one where you can dance, mingle and flirt. My only reservation is that it’s in Lindbergh, and I’m in midtown.
Lindbergh City Center Main St NE Atlanta, GA 30324 (404) 261-2325
4. Loca Luna
To put this place into two words: Salsa Dancing. This place has the ability to get the shyest girl in the room dancing with some, or all, of the instructors available. It may be the dim lights, the blaring upbeat music, or the mojitos they serve, it’s a great place to let your hair down. They serve Tapas as well, so you can refuel before you go back out to samba.
Amsterdam Walk 550 Amsterdam Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30306 (404) 875-4494
5. Top Flr
If you’re feeling really fancy, Top Flr is a little hideaway where you can indulge in good food and good drinks. It’s a more intimate setting where you can talk about anything and not feel like you have to yell to the person next to you. It’s a bit on the expensive side, so this would be a once in a blue moon kind of place.
674 Myrtle St NE Atlanta, GA 30308 (404) 685-3110
6. Johnny’s Hideaway
This is rumored to be a cougar bar. Actually, let me rephrase this, it’s a cougar bar. But that doesn’t mean that this isn’t an energetic bar. I haven’t been here (yet) but from hearsay, it’s still a good place to go for all ages. By 2am, it’s all people under 30, but if you want to hang with an older crowd, this is a good place to go.
3771 Roswell Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30342 (404) 233-8026
7. Ormsby’s
Have you seen a bar with indoor Bocce? Because I hadn’t until I got here and my mind was blown. It was a lot of fun to have a beer and play bocce with some of my girl friends. This is also a place that gets really crowded, really quickly. My advice is to get here early. Otherwise, you’ll be throwing bows when you want to throw darts.
