With Spring right around the corner, everyone will be wanting to spend time outside. Did you know that there are amazing places to visit right here in Georgia? After record breaking temperatures this Winter you are bound to visit a few of these places to thaw out!
7. Golden Isles, Georgia
One of the more relaxing spots in Georgia to visit. Not only are the beaches nice, but there are tons of outdoor activities to enjoy as well. Whether you’re paddle boarding or just walking on the beach, people of all ages can enjoy the Golden Isles.
6. Kennesaw Mountain
Kennesaw Mountain is in the backyard of Atlanta which makes it a perfect spot to go hiking on a warm Spring morning. The mountain is the place of one of the major Civil War battles in Georgia so you’re going to see a couple antique cannons during your visit. Once you reach the top you are rewarded with the beautiful Atlanta skyline to admire!
5. Stone Mountain Park
With a hike that rewards you with another view of Atlanta, Stone Mountain is one of the best spots to go in Georgia. Pack a cooler with drinks and food so after you hike the mountain you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the laser show on the lawn! I recommend actually hiking the mountain as it adds to the experience.
4. Atlanta Braves
Who doesn’t like baseball in the Spring? Head over to Turner Field as it celebrates its 18th season as the home of the Atlanta Braves! To purchase tickets and find the Braves 2015 schedule click here. On a budget? Show up to Turner Field two and a half hours early to score $1 tickets. You will have to enter the park immediately, but you’re saving big time!
3. Tallulah Falls
The Tallulah Gorge Park is a great site to see! The falls are stunning and the man-made dam will take your breath away. Try to go later in the spring when it is almost swimming time, the park has a slippery rock down the river that people can slide down into the water!
2. Helen, Georgia
Helen is an Appalachian style town that sits on the edge of the Chattahoochee River. Just like the Tallulah Falls, it is advised to go when it is warmer out so you can “shoot the ‘Hooch.” That is when you rent out a tube at the North of the city and ride the river down to the bottom. The city has many shops and restaurants that will make for a fun afternoon!
