Amazon is looking to fill about 500 full-time positions in Georgia during a job fair this coming Tuesday.
An Amazon hiring team will be onsite to speak to potential applicants, take information/resumes and answer questions about working at Amazon. Residents will be able to sign up for alerts and information to apply when hiring opens up in a few weeks. The hiring event for Amazon’s fulfillment center in south Bibb County is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Conference Center.
The Macon Telegraph reports the new hires will pack and ship large customer items, such as sports equipment, patio furniture, pet food and household goods.
Last year Amazon implemented a new minimum wage, $15 an hour, for all its employees. Full-time employees also receive benefits including:
- Comprehensive healthcare, including medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave

- Career Choice, which pre-pays 95% of associates’ tuition for courses in high-demand fields, whether those jobs are at Amazon or another company
- Career Skills, which trains hourly associates in critical job skills like resume writing, how to communicate effectively, and computer basics
