The Will Ferrell comedy “Anchorman 2” is filming in downtown Atlanta today. The crew is back from a jaunt to the coast where Ron Burgundy shared a scene with a fake shark. Here’s a photo of Ferrell following his dip in the Atlantic Ocean.
Today they are filming downtown at Woodruff Park. Here are some great photos from Kathleen Bowen and Garn McCown. The scene is set in vintage New York City. See the late Mayor Ed Koch admonishing people to “Keep NYC Clean?”
A bunch of retro cabs are parked outside the Rialto Theater. Classy indeed!
According to our eyes and ears ons-set today’s scene involves a rumble between rival television stations. There was another similar scene that filmed not too long ago in Phoenix Park, near Turner Field.
Today’s scene stars Sacha Baron Cohen as a rival television anchor. We’ve also heard talk that Amy Poehler and Tina Feyare on hand for cameos, apparently joining Will Smith and Nicole Kidman in the cameo department.
The movie also starring Dave Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and Kristen Wiig also has filmed at the Georgia State Archives building, the Silver Skillet and Olympic Flame restaurants, Peacthree Center and private homes in Inman Park and Buckhead.
