Once again it’s time for the 2017 Atlanta Moon Ride benefiting Bert’s Big Adventure and there are some new additions to this year’s event!
Celebrating its fifth consecutive year, Atlanta Moon Ride invites the city to hit the streets on Friday, June 9th for an electrifying evening. The first night-cycling event of its kind to be introduced to the city will include a fun and safe, 6-mile bike ride through some of Atlanta’s coolest neighborhoods.
All proceeds from the Atlanta Moon Ride will support the work of local charity Bert’s Big Adventure, which is a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families.
The festivities include a pre-party in Piedmont Park at 7 p.m., followed by a lively, 6-mile bike ride through some of Atlanta’s coolest neighborhoods at 11 p.m. alongside the Atlanta Police Department. The new route has riders passing through Virginia Highland- home to numerous bars, restaurants, and spectator events. Participants are encouraged to ride with flair and compete in the *costume contest, where one lucky winner will receive a vacation for four to the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast, including a private flight, sponsored by Ascension Air, and a 3-night stay at the WaterColor Inn.
Other prizes include tickets to Atlanta United, cash, and more. General admission is $35 and includes a highly sought-after Atlanta Moon Ride t-shirt.
VIP accommodations are available for $95 per ticket and includes entry into a private, tented area with catering, VIP bike valet, private check-in, seating, and air-conditioned bathrooms. A private bar will offer signature Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails and Sierra Nevada beer.
