Still time to sign up for one of Atlanta’s “fun events.”
The 10th Annual Atlanta Santa Speedo Run invites the city to come together tomorrow to benefit Bert’s Big Adventure. Bert’s Big Adventure is a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-experience paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. This past year’s 9th annual Atlanta Santa Speedo Run raised over $70,000 and this year the goal is set to raise $100,000 for the local nonprofit.
“Our goal is to offer hope when there is little and to ease the burden caused by chronic and terminal illnesses in children. The funds raised by the participants of the Atlanta Santa Speedo Run will make a huge impact on these families and will help create memories with the child that will last the family a lifetime,” said Bert Weiss, founder of Bert’s Big Adventure and host of Q100’s The Bert Show.
The Atlanta Santa Speedo Run will have participants run a mile in Midtown in their Speedos and holiday-inspired swimwear. Participants and spectators are encouraged to partake in the pre-party at Hudson Grille Midtown. Everyone can celebrate with a drink, enjoy music by DJ Yvonne Money and kick-off the swimsuit winter fun run for a great cause.
Registration for the run is $25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of $250 to participate. Prizes of all shapes and sizes will be awarded for categories such as Top Fundraiser, Super Santas and Best Couple Costume.
