On the most recent episode of Complex’s Sneaker Shopping, Atlanta star, Lakeith Stanfield browsed the shelves of New York’s Flight Club and talked about several different aspects of sneaker culture.
Most notable about his appearance on the show was that Stanfield showed up to the store barefoot, creating extra incentive for him to purchase some sneakers at the end of the interview. Browsing the shelves, he spoke of growing up in California, his admiration of Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt, and gave his take on Kanye West’s $130,000 Grammy-worn Air Yeezys.
“I think that that’s insane. All the kids man, look good but don’t go overboard with it. People be losing their life over stuff like this. It ain’t that deep—you still cool with or without your shoes,” said Stanfield, before giving props to those with the means. “Shouts out, if you can afford to do it and you got it like that, do what you got to do.”
