A Starbucks in the Atlanta area has failed health inspection for having cockroaches in the kitchen, among other problems.
The store in DeKalb County not far from the Toco Hills Shopping Plaza received a score of 65 out of 100.
Reportedly the health violations include roaches crawling on the floor in front of the hand washing sink and underneath the espresso machine.
According to the health inspector, an employee a hand into a trash can, then handled food utensils. In addition, the dishwasher temperature was too low.
A corporate spokesperson stated that the company’s top priority was the health and safety of their customers.
“We immediately engaged a third party vendor to conduct a thorough inspection and in-depth cleaning of our store following this health inspection,” said spokesperson Jaime Riley.
“We will continue to work closely with the city to ensure compliance with all health code requirements”, added Riley.
The location is set for a reinspection within the next week.
