Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, has been, currently is, and should remain one of the most popular destinations for Atlanta travelers looking for family time, a little golf/tennis, and quality “away time” that one can only get on the South Carolina coast. It’s only a few hours from the Metro Atlanta area, but once you arrive, you feel like you are away from your hectic life.

Sea Pines Renovations / Capital Enhancements
– Plantation Golf Club (opened in February 2014)
All visitors should check out the new Planation Golf Club and its a 23,000-square-foot clubhouse and all new golf learning center located at Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean courses. Make sure you visit expansive pro shop, a new bar and grill, the 2,000 square-feet of event space and spacious locker rooms.
– Sea Pines Beach Club (opened June 2014)
The Sea Pines Beach Club is known for a relaxed, coastal feel– is located on the site of the former club. Offering year-round enjoyment for resort guests and property owners, it will offer a casual beachside restaurant; oceanfront bar; express concessions; retail shop; rooftop bar terrace; and special event space connected by outdoor decks, terraces and covered verandas. It’s a great place to spend your summer and a favorite of visitors throughout the fall.
– Inn at Harbour Town
In addition to a complete renovation and revitalization of the Inn’s lobby and guest rooms, the famed 60-room boutique hotel recently features a new infinity edge pool and terrace overlooking famed Harbour Town Golf Links. Watch the golfers tee off on one the top courses in America. Guests will enjoy an intimate sun deck with poolside food and beverage service and a relaxing, secluded whirlpool-spa is conveniently located at the pool’s far end under a shaded trellis. – Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse (opening spring 2015)
A new clubhouse just in time for the 2015 RBC Heritage PGA stop. After this year’s RBC Heritage in April, The Sea Pines Resort began construction on a new 19,000-square-foot Harbour Town Golf Links Clubhouse on the site of what was the current structure. Slated for completion in spring of 2015, the facility will honor the RBC Heritage with a gallery showcasing the rich tournament history and grand display of past champions.

These developments follow multiple revitalization projects including: dredging of the Harbor Town Yacht Basin to accommodate vessels up to 150 ft.; new cart paths as well as marsh restoration off the shore of the famed 18th hole of Harbour Town Golf Links; new state-of-the-art driving range servicing Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean courses; enhanced Champions Ballroom at the Harbour Town Conference Center and a new fitness center.
Palmetto Dunes
– New GPS Touchscreen Systems
Golfers love these GPS systems right on the golf carts and now they are on carts at the Robert Trent Jones course. Find out your distance to the green, hole and more.
– New Restaurants
Two new restaurants at Shelter Cover Harbour, Palmetto Dunes’ marina and the entertainment venue just across the highway. They have also been renovated inside and out. La Fontana offers Italian and the Mediterranean Harbour Bar and Grill.
