Old Fourth Ward has recently added a new pub to its neighborhood at Highland Avenue and Sampson Street, called The Barrelhouse. Barrelhouse is owned and operated by Atlanta-based Magnum Restaurant and Bar Group. The new restaurant will feature a diverse selection of seasonal and classic cocktails, local craft beers, an extensive bourbon menu and delicious fare.
Barrelhouse prides itself with their hand-crafted classic pub food and trying to always find ways to best serve the customer. They invite guests to try their signature Barrelhouse Burger topped with bacon jam, fried egg, onion ring, American cheese and roasted garlic mayo. Their fare also goes beyond signature burgers offering an array of Charcuterie, Fish Fried Tacos, Brussel Sprouts, Hand-Cut Fries, Wings, Mac n’ Cheese and much more. They also offer a delicious Impossible Burger for vegans.
The Barrelhouse Bar features beverages of all different tastes and ingredients alike. Their extensive craft Bourbon list has been hand-picked by the restaurant owners. They offer specialty barrel-aged classic cocktails and custom cocktails, including the Barrelhouse 2.0 concoction meant to serve four guests It is made of Cutwater Bali Hair Tiki Rum, Velvet Falernum, Pineapple, Orange and Passion Fruit. They have also provided the recipe for their delicious God Save McQueen for the public to use.
Barrelhouse’s Ingredients Easy-to-Follow Recipe for God Save McQueen
2 oz. Tanteo Jalapeno Tequila
¾ oz. Orange Liqueur
1.5 oz. Tamarind Simple Syrup
Squeeze of Fresh Lemon Juice
Squeeze of Fresh Lime Juice
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake, pour and strain into glass rimmed with Togarashi Seasoning.
Barrelhouse will also be hosting a party to those who are single and ready to mingle. The special party for singles this Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 14, 2019. People are invited to visit the neighborhood corner pub for a $25 prix fixe menu for one, featuring; an appetizer, entree, and dessert, $3 Jello-O Shots, $5 House Wine. Their will be speciality cocktails offered during the evening including the This Drink is My Date, One is (not) the Loneliest Number, #Single and Stupid Cupid.
