Join us this Saturday, November 7th, at the BattleFrog Obstacle Race Series for a day of family-friendly racing for all ages as well as what industry publications herald as one of the top obstacle course races.
BattleFrog consists of various events for runners at different levels featuring the “bullfrog mile” for teenagers, the “tadpole,” a family course with exciting confidence-building obstacles for kids, and a 2x winning Crossfit Games Champion titled “The Fittest Man on Earth.”
Many special racers underscore the extraordinary nature of the event. One such racer is local athlete Michael Mills, a paraplegic athlete who lost the use of his legs after being struck by a drunk driver. Mills is ‘Battling’ to raise awareness for adaptive athletes and expects to complete the race in about three hours.
BattleFrog represents how people can “…overcome obstacles, live an exciting life and achieve great things.” We look forward to following and cheering along Gabe, a boy from Vietnam without the use of his legs adopted by an Atlanta family. Gabe will race in the BullFrog Mile.
Another exciting group of racers is the GORMR team (Georgia Obstacle Racers and Mud Runners). GORMR features high caliber, individual athletes but they go out together and ‘Battle’ as a team. GORMR has sent over 200 athletes to past BattleFrog events and expects even higher participation for this race.
Regardless of your reason for racing, BattleFrog is an excellent way to get outdoors and enjoy the spirit the community fosters. The November 7th event takes place at Foxwoods Event Center, at 416 Bethany Church Road in Tallapoosa, GA and is appropriate for all ages. Registration is still open at www.battlefrogseries.com for teams, individuals, spectators and volunteers. Prices ranges from $5 to $140, depending on age, skill level and distance.
