This Saturday, 26 first-time fighters will face off for 26 unique charities of their own choosing. For 3 months, they’ve been training and fundraising for their causes. For 3 months, they’ve sacrificed common comforts and taken countless punches to benefit worthy charities. For 3 months, Brawl Nation has come together to support these brave everyday heroes willing to literally fight for the change they wish to see in the world.
Doors open at 6pm in the Georgia World Congress Center, and the action will begin at 6:30, sharp. Here’s the rundown of the Brawlers, their Causes, and how you can get involved as a fan, donor, or guest.
Fight Card: Click on Names for Bio, Cause information and donations – ~Approximate time of bout
Brawl 1: Jon + Jake (Presented by Marquee Events) ~6:45pm
Jon fought in the very first Bulldawg Brawl event in 2012 in the college fight night days, and he’s back 7 years later for another taste of the arena for an Autism cause called Go Long For Luke. He’s up against Jake, the “Hebrew Hammer,” who’s been volunteering with his cause benefitting Parkinson’s patients while training for his first Brawl for a Cause.
Brawl 2: Grant + Glenn (Presented by Friendly Human)
Grant and Glenn are both computer programmers who have a passion for education. Both their causes benefit those getting into STEM, and both men have become friends through the training process. Don’t let that fool you though – these two may be gentle and reserved at the keyboard, but they’re ready to show everyone what they’ve got in the ring!
Brawl 3: Zach + Rostam (Presented by Kendra Scott) ~7:15pm
What happens when two martial artists go at it in the Brawl ring? We’re about to find out. Zach is representing Project Live Love and Rostam will be fighting for Medical Outreach of America. If Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan had a Brawl baby, it’d be this matchup.
Brawl 4: Quan + Alex (Presented by Defiance Fuel)
We want to start off with a bang, which explains why we are putting one of our most electric matchups first. Both these Brawlers have serious skills and very different styles with Quan as an outside fighter like Muhammad Ali, and Alex as an inside fighter like Mike Tyson. With two great communities behind them, Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue and Caminar Latino, you definitely won’t want to miss our first Brawl of 2019.
Brawl 5: Chip + Rollo (Presented by Lululemon)
These guys are seasoned athletes and accomplished businessmen ready to throw down. Chip is brawl for American Cancer Society, which has affected his family and friends, and “YOLO” Rollo is representing Small Dreams Foundation, a charity started in honor of his former coworker who was murdered after work one day. Two amazing men with two amazing causes!
Brawl 6: Mark + Javier (Presented by X3 Sports) ~8pm
These two are bruisers with incredible why’s. Mark is fighting against anxiety and depression and for mental health. Javier is representing the X3 Foundation, a youth development program associated with the Brawl’s training partners, X3 Sports.
Brawl 7: Bill + Taylor (Presented by Solomon Brothers)
Bill is a lawyer in Atlanta fighting for CURE, which provides worldwide healthcare aid, and he’s matched up against photographer and producer, Taylor, who is representing UNICEF Next Generation. These two have been training and fundraising hard to put on an awesome show for all on April 6th!
Brawl 8: Joe + Jason (Presented by Sablier Watches) ~8:30pm
Joe is one of three Brawlers fighting for House of Cherith’s anti-sex-trafficking mission this year, and he built a tiny house with his bare hands to auction off with fellow Brawler, Dusty. He’s matched up against Jason, an influencer marketing director fighting for Wine to Water, an organization dedicated to providing clean water for those without.
Brawl 9: Reece + Dusty (Presented by Prize Picks)
LC Reece is a veteran and an advocate for CURE, which fights childhood cancer. He’s fighting the main event Brawler from our 2018 event, Dusty, a preacher fighting for the anti-trafficking organization, House of Cherith. These two Brawlers are sure to put on an incredible show!
Brawl 10: Bruce + Mike (Presented by Morgan and Morgan) ~9:30pm
Our top fundraiser this year is Bruce, founder and executive director of City of Refuge. He’s matched up against Mike, an advocate for another anti-trafficking organization called Street Grace. They may be seasoned, but these men have been working hard to brawl for what they believe in most!
Brawl 11: Nkem + Trey (Presented by Estrella Jalisco)
Arguably our two best athletes in this year’s event, Nkem and Trey are poised for a powerful collision in the ring. Nkem is representing the organization that helps families like his relocate from Africa, and Trey is fighting for mental health by knocking our anxiety and depression.
Brawl 12: Amber + Erika (Presented by Tito’s Vodka)
In our history, we’ve never had two Brawlers believe in each other so much. Countless times, Erika and Amber have collaborate to enhance each other campaigns and reached out to encourage each other through training. They are fierce competitors ready to face off for 3 rounds for Partnership Against Domestic Violence (in honor of her mother), and an extensive leg surgery that will make Erika’s daughter able to walk on her own. This is the most inspirational matchup of the evening, and a must-see.
Brawl 13: Ryan + Tommy (Presented by Patagonia Beer) ~10:30pm
Ryan and Tommy have been training and fundraising on another level. As top fundraisers for Hands United, a local non-profit focussed on youth sex-trafficking, and Saving Susan, an international non-profit focussed on youth development, these two are fighting for the next generation to be better than this one. As ex-college athletes committed to braving the ring, they are ready to headline the Brawl and finish the 2019 event stronger than ever!
