Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will celebrate the grand opening of its new Acworth, Ga. location on Thursday, Aug. 21 with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Cabela’s executives.
Opening day will kick off with crowd entertainment, including a DJ, giveaways and trivia games at 8 a.m. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m., where the grand-opening ribbon will be cut by an arrow shot from a bow by a local Cabela’s employee – marking the official opening of Cabela’s largest Georgia location.
Cabela’s will offer giveaways throughout the weekend, including gift cards valued up to $500 to the first 500 customers in line for the grand opening on Thursday. The first 50 customers through the door Friday will receive a Cabela’s utility bag valued at $24.99. On Saturday, the first 50 customers will receive a Cabela’s commemorative grand opening cap valued at $14.99. And on Sunday, the first 50 customers will receive a Cabela’s gift card valued between $5 and $100.
Customers 18 years and older also can enter to win a Coleman 700 UTV and trailer valued at more than $10,000. Additionally, Cabela’s will host a variety of activities for the entire family Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
“We’re very excited to bring Cabela’s unique in-store experience and legendary customer service to Atlanta and the surrounding areas,” said Earl Johnson, the store’s general manager. “We have something for everyone. From a large mountain replica and fish aquarium to the fudge shop, we hope everyone in the area will come out grand opening weekend and check out what Cabela’s has to offer.”
The 100,000-square-foot store employs approximately 200 full-time and part-time employees, most from Acworth and the surrounding area. It is located in the Cherokee Village development in the northeast corner of I-75 and Highway 92 and will be Cabela’s second Georgia location, joining the 42,000-square-foot Cabela’s Outpost opened in Augusta in March.
Store hours during grand opening weekend are Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For additional information, visit www.cabelas.com/stores.
