CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
Emergency crews were on the scene of a crash involving Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton just after noon Tuesday in Charlotte, according station WSOC-TV.
Police said the crash happened around 12:30 p.m.
The severity of Newton’s injuries was not immediately available, but witnesses to WSOC-TV that Newton was put on a stretcher. He seemed to be smiling and conscious after the crash.
The road was closed as crews investigated the crash.
