November 2 will bring a lot of acid rap and Sunday candy to the Tabernacle for Atlanta citizens and those from surrounding areas as Chance the Rapper brings his Family Matters Tour to Georgia.
The Chicago native and 10 Day rapper announced the tour in early August in the delightful aftermath of the release of Surf, the highly anticipated project led by close friend, Donnie Trumpet. Fans of Chance and the Social Experiment waited patiently for the release of the project, which finally saw the light of day at the end of May. Since the release, old and new fans alike of group have clamored over the creative project and have been pleased with the result of their extended wait.
With the release of the tour name and dates came the release of some of the family that will accompany him on the 27-city, one month tour. Chance headlines the show that features three co-stars, Towkio, D.R.A.M., and Metro Boomin. The great thing about this tour is the wide variety of potential surprise visitors.
Many will recognize Metro from his influence behind numerous ATL hits from the last few years. D.R.A.M. has been riding the wave from “Caretaker” (featured on Surf) and “Cha Cha” and will be coming off of a brief break from touring with Waka Flocka post his Raurfest performance. Towkio, another Chi-Town representative will get a chance to perform music from his newly released .WAV Theory, a project that featured Vic Mensa, KAYTRANADA, the Social Experiment and more. (Hiatus Kaiyote will also co-headline in select cities). Can you see the connection?
Chance’s family affair begins on October 11 in Austin, TX and will conclude on November 25 in Los Angeles, CA. Check below for a little background on Towkio, Metro, D.R.A.M. and Hiatus Kaiyote. Surf is also available for those that have been under a rock. For more info on ticket packages and tour inquires click chanceraps.com.
