Its no secret that Chick-Fil-A is a favorite here in its home state of Georgia, but where does it rank in the eyes of America? Restaurant Business Magazine recently released their annual list of “Consumers’ 20 Favorite Chains.” Chick-fil-A jumped four spots in the ranking this year to take the number 1 spot as consumers’ favorite chain for 2016. Atlanta-based Moe’s Southwest Grill also made an appearance on the list at number 10.
Honestly, that is not a surprising result to me. Everybody and their momma has jumped on the premium fried chicken sandwich bandwagon looking for the next “Chick-Fil-A killer.” It would appear that all attempts at dethroning CFA have failed so far. The franchise continues to expand locations and sales despite being closed every Sunday. What’s also not surprising is that they were ranked the highest in the hospitality category.
“It’s not just the chicken sandwiches and waffle fries earning high marks with guests; Chick-fil-A is the only chain on this year’s list to score above 75 percent for service and hospitality, showing that consumers do care about the experience”
Restaurant Business scored chains on 5 different categories. Here’s how Chick-Fil-A fared:
Value — 53.3%
Food & Beverage — 59.7%
Appearance/Ambiance — 60%
Convenience/Takeout — 67.5%
Service/Hospitality — 76.7%
The list and percentages seem pretty accurate to me. What are your thoughts? Do you think Chick-Fil-A is the best restaurant chain in America? How would you rank based on the categories provided? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter!
