The beginning of a new year brings a time of setting resolutions and goals for the upcoming year, we are currently halfway through January. One annual tradition many people are partaking in is “Dry January”. Dry January is a month where people abstain or drink less, usually due to the excessive drinking done over the holiday. Whether you are doing it for health reasons or for a sake of it’s own we have recommendation on locations that have created booze-free beverages for the month.
El Super Pan is Chef Hector Santiago’s Latino restaurant with locations at Atlanta’s nationally acclaimed Ponce City Market and the Battery Atlanta. Chef Santiago believes that practicing Dry January allows you to re-boot yourself after the holidays. They are offering Aguas Tropicales, which are non-alcoholic drinks that are crafted in house. Guests can choose from different fruity flavors like tamarindo (tamarind), more (blackberry) and hibiscus ginger tea. The restaurant is also looking for more items to add to this menu for the upcoming year to provide an array of options for their guests.
“In 2019, we will be working with local breweries to create one of my favorite non-alcoholic drinks, Malta,” states Chef Hector Santiago. “A malt soda that is very popular in Latin America countries.”
The Reynoldstown restaurant, Muchacho, offers guests a selection of booze-less drinks with flavorful feels. They serve up much more than coffee with options including their housemade horchata, ginger tumeric tonic and daily agua fresca. The agua fresca is a refreshing drinks made from fruits, flowers and more that get blended in with water.
For those who are OTP, whether you work out there or want to visit some sites look no further than Holmes. The restaurant recently opened in a neighborhood within the historic Jones House at Alpharetta City Center. For Dry January, Holmes is offering their Lei Lei Lemonade, which is an always-available “secret” menu item.
“Lei Lei Lemonade has been on the menu since we opened and will continue to be indefinitely,” states Co-Owner Jordan Neary. “The ingredients include a butterfly pea flower tea base, housemade purple syrup, lemon juice, and a touch of water with a refreshing kick of ginger and citrus.”
We hope these delicious, alcohol-free drinks are great alternatives to those who are halfway through Dry January. You are halfway through the month of January, finish strong with these tasty recommendations!
