Events Through the Month of June!
The South Carolina Festival of Flowers is underway as you read this. It’s a state-wide celebration of flower and fun. Now in its 50th year, the festival:
- Is an inclusive event that involves volunteers and participants from across the region.
- Offers entertainment options ranging from gardening and performances to sporting and cultural events.
- Focuses on education as we empower the community with horticulture knowledge and offer learning opportunities for all ages.
- Be an economically and ecologically sustainable festival that takes pride in being an economic catalyst for the entire Greenwood community.
Celebrate the beginning of summer and enjoy traditional southern hospitality at the South Carolina Festival of Flowers in beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina. Named South Carolina’s “Event of the Year” and one of Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events in June for the last five years and also one of the top 100 events in North America by the American Bus Association for 2012 and 2013, this Festival is one you won’t want to miss. The South Carolina Festival of Flowers is a must see!
The first weekend of June will prove to be most entertaining for all ages, June 1-4, 2016. Enjoy a full schedule of Festival activities the whole family can enjoy. View the works of South Carolina’s top artists and craftsmen at the Arts and Crafts Show. Enjoy a nice leisure day strolling through one of our beautiful gardens on tour. Plus see the now famous “Signature” Topiary Display in Uptown Greenwood, SC.
If you are game for a road trip to South Carolina, topiaries are the topic today, as Greenwood works all year on these magical topiaries. You’ll see 46 different themed topiaries displayed around the Square, at the County Library, and at the Farmers Market. These beautiful horticultural creations showcase the Uptown Greenwood area during the SC Festival of Flowers.
This is a chance to experience the entire community of Greenwood as each topiary has been adopted by an organization and is sponsored by a separate organization. See for yourself and stroll Uptown Square, and early evening is the perfect time to do this.
