Atlanta’s community of tech startups is an impressive collection of young entrepreneurs that throws many of Georgia’s recent grads right into the position of CEO. One of those new CEOs is EventTent‘s Justin McLeod. With a string of pitch competition victories under his belt and an incredibly talented team around him, it’s no surprise that Justin has been taking major steps towards revolutionizing how millennials search for events.
EventTent allows its users to take pictures and videos during an event and share them to a live stream accessible through the app. What this does is give the app’s users a way to discover events and also see how a certain event is going before they make the decision to attend—hence the app’s slogan of Know Before You Go.
When it comes down to it, however, perhaps the most impressive thing about EventTent is the team of young professionals that have taken the app this far. It’s no secret that Atlanta is a hot bed for young entrepreneurs but that doesn’t mean all of those self-employed millennials are finding success in their endeavors. In a growing sea of techies quickly flocking to Atlanta to call it home and set up shop, Justin has still managed to rise above many competing apps, create a lifestyle brand around the technology and appeal to Atlanta’s event organizers just as much as Atlanta’s event goers.
GAFollowers recently sat down with Justin to find out what it took for him to turn his idea into a functioning app and why he selected Atlanta as his location to launch EventTent.
