Have a feeling that you’re gonna get a bad gift for Christmas? Or that your significant other didn’t pick up on those hints you dropped for the past month? Well now you can rest easy knowing that Burger King has your back.
A Burger King in Miami recently announced that they will exchange Whoppers for unwanted gifts, and will donate what they get. It’s a nice idea that can benefit a community and is especially helpful for this time of year when lots of less fortunate people can’t experience the holidays. They even announced on Twitter that the first 100 people to post a photo will get a gift card.
It’s quite an unusual promotion and it’ll be interesting to see how well it goes. Maybe one day we’ll see McDonald’s offering Happy Meal toys in exchange for a birthday present that just didn’t cut it. It honestly doesn’t sound like a bad deal. I can think of plenty gifts that I have gotten over the years that would have been a good trade off for a Whopper. Imagine the drive thru of this Burger King with people giving their gift through the window. It’s a pretty funny visual.
Although the whole idea is positive and goes along with the holiday spirit, I can’t help but wonder who will get these gifts that no one wanted. Will they like them? Will they know that they were unwanted gifts? And, perhaps most importantly, will they be able to exchange the gift in for a whopper of their own if they don’t want it either?
So many questions.
