It’s been a long time coming, but finally the Atlanta Falcons have gotten another chance to make it into the history books. Superbowl LI is right around the corner and for Atlanta fans this is a momentous occasion.
Unfortunately, fans won’t be able to partake in the excitement from the Georgia Dome, which was the hopeful plan. The NFL rules restricts any broadcasting of the games and there are no exceptions—even for a moment as special as this.
“We share your tremendous excitement that the Atlanta Falcons are headed to the Super Bowl. NFL rules prohibit us from using the Georgia Dome for broadcasting the game. Fans wishing to gather with other fans to watch the game can consider patronizing neighborhood businesses who will be showing the game,” a statement released by the Georgia Dome explained.
Initially, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed also supported the idea, but the restriction still stands. The good news is that Reed announced a pep rally for the Falcons at City Hall on Friday at 11:30.
I need you to put on your red & black and #Riseup this Friday to celebrate our @AtlantaFalcons. Join me & @V103Atlanta at City Hall 11:30am. pic.twitter.com/XFZxmzLypB

It’s a huge bummer, but there are definitely ways to enjoy the game in some shape or fashion.
The first option being a visit to your local bar or restaurant that you know will be showing the big game. Another option would be to host a party or attend a friend’s. These options are obvious, but also the most effective tactic to not missing a second of the action.
