It’s awards season, and there’s no doubt that Hollywood’s best actors and actresses are looking for an award to put them in high regard.
The Golden Globes passed just a couple of weeks ago, and the prestigious Academy Awards are on the way. But as some stars prepare to receive praise and glory others are preparing to take their Ls with at least a shred of dignity.
Filmmakers want nothing to do with Razzies, as they award films for their mistakes and how badly they were made. With so many films coming out of the Hollywood of the South, it’s no surprise that some of them didn’t quite make the cut.
For instance, the film “Dirty Grandpa” has racked up some nominations like Worst Actor for Robert De Niro and Worst Supporting Actresses by Aubrey Plaza and Julianne Hough. The film racked up 5 nominations and that’s nothing to be proud about. What we all can take pride in, however, is that the big spring break scene was filmed on Georgia’s own Tybee Island. We’re not necessarily excited about Georgia playing the backdrop to a less than stellar film, but it does feel nice to have filmmakers recognize Georgia’s own Spring Break party potential.
Besides that, other films like “Boo! A Madea Halloween” by Tyler Perry has earned a worst actress nomination. This is also not the first time that Perry has been featured at the Razzies. One of the funniest nominations is for Worst Screen Combo featuring Tyler Perry and his wig.
Either way, Georgia has been doing a stand up job with producing movies. It’s moved right behind Los Angeles and New York for most film productions. This only brings more potential and attention to Georgia. As they say, any publicity is good publicity, right?
