Like many other states leading up to the start of school, Georgia has a tax-free weekend. This year, July 30-31st is Tax Free Weekend in Georgia according to the Department of Revenue. In fact, Georgia places in the top half of United States for sales tax at 7.01%. The government will temporarily suspend the collection of sales tax on items such as clothing, school supplies and computers.
This is a great weekend to buy school clothes and the latest technology a student might need.
“School is right around the corner and students, whether they are starting elementary school, high school, or going to college, have supplies they need before starting the year,” said Tommy Aoki, Vice President of Sales & Operations for Simply Mac, a licensed and certified seller of pre-owned MacBooks, iPads. “Tax free weekend allows parents to purchase items for their kids at a lower price.”

According to the Department of Revenue, computers and electronic accessories with a sales price of $1000 or less are exempt.
Says Aoki. “We can help customers find the perfect product within their price range.”
If you are looking to make that technology purchase or lay out funds for a new wardrobe, July 30-31 is the weekend to do it, in the state of Georgia.
