It’s the most wonderful time of the year as The Battery Atlanta is in holiday mode with the opening of its seasonal ice skating rink, visits from Santa Claus, a lighted Christmas tree and much more. The rink opened on Saturday, Nov. 18 and remain open to guests through Sunday, Jan. 14, while the tree lighting will take place at The Battery Atlanta on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
Guests will be able to enjoy ice skating throughout the holidays beginning at 11 a.m. every day with the rink staying open to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the rink will stay open until 11 p.m. On Christmas Eve, it will be open beginning at 11 a.m. and is closed on Christmas Day. A live DJ will offer music on various nights throughout the holiday season.
Admission for skating, which varies based on date, begins at $13 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Groups with more than 15 people will receive a $2 discount and to rent the rink out in its entirety is $800 per hour.
Beginning on Friday, Nov. 24, families will be able to get a free photo with Santa Claus during his weekend visits to the SunTrust OnUp Experience at The Battery Atlanta. Santa will be available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning at noon on most days.
The Inaugural Tree Lighting Ceremony will feature several special guests, including Santa and Atlanta Braves players. This free event also will feature a free screening of “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas” starring Jim Carrey as part of the Xfinity Movie Series at the Georgia Power Pavilion at 7:20 p.m.
The Atlanta Braves Foundation Toy Drive will be held Dec. 1-3 with guests encouraged to bring any packaged, unused toys to a designated donation center in The Battery Atlanta plaza.
SunTrust Park will open its doors on weekends and select days for children to enjoy Hope and Will’s Sandlot where they can take part in carnival games, a batting cage, zip lines, a climbing wall and much more. Located in The Battery Atlanta plaza, the Winter Wonderland Party Zone will offer holiday music, performances from The Atlanta Braves Heavy Hitters, visits from The Home Depot Tools and holiday craft stations.

Holiday visitors to The Battery Atlanta can park in the Red Deck for the festivities, including the tree lighting and ice skating.
