The Miss Hooters International 2016 Pageant just wrapped up in Las Vegas and Hooters Girls from the state of Georgia made the finals. The fourth runner up was Caitlyn Efel, Hooters of Kennesaw and among the top 10 winners was Rachel Swartz, Hooters of Columbus, Georgia.
The qualifiers were selected from Hooters Girls who presently work in the restaurants. They competed in local and regional swimsuit contests for one of the coveted spots in the Hooters 20th Annual International Swimsuit Pageant, so it’s quite an accomplishment for these girls.
“It was so much fun,” said Efel. “There were 80 girls from all over the world, so it was exciting. They have activities for us each day, there are photoshoots for the calendar, it’s not really a competition. It’s a competition within a competition and I know all these women from the past, and they are all my friends.”
Efel has worked for Hooters for four years and she scored a spot in the 2015 Hooters Swimsuit Calendar, but she is looking forward to seeing if she makes the 2016 edition.
“The (2016) calendar comes out in October. This year, I was Miss May.”
Efel moved to Georgia when she was in high school and graduated from Sequoyah High School in Canton. Besides working at Hooters, she stays very busy.
“I’m a full-time student at Georgia State and I’m working on my Bachelors in Nursing. I just got accepted into the nursing school at Georgia State.”
She said she also does her clinicals at Northside Hospital, in Atlanta and works at Hooters at nights and on the weekends.
When she isn’t working or studying, Efel loves to travel and write. She combines the love of both of those into her burgeoning WordPress travel blog, caitfromearth.wordpress.com. The blog is something Efel says she does in her spare time. She also in on board with Hooters and the Breast Cancer Research cause the chain is famous for and helps support.
“We are all very passionate about Breast Cancer Awareness. Our merchandise proceeds benefit the cause and a dollar from every calendar sold is donated.”
She also invites everyone who loves wings to come out to Hooters on Chicken Wing Day Eve, July 28, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on National Chicken Wing Day, July 29 for all-you-can-eat wings.
