Once again, the Atlanta Winter Beerfest did not disappoint in the first major beer festival of the new year.
The Atlanta Winter Beerfest was geared to go at 1:00pm and there was already a line of thirsty people ready to get their hands on the plastic cup and grab their first full cup of beer. People were coming in all types of transportation; whether it was taxis, Uber, or even their own vehicles. The professionals equipped themselves with pretzel necklaces to help keep their stomach satisfied while they tried the alcohol.
The sold out beer festival not only offered some of the best beer and wine locally and around the United States, but also some mouth-watering food, cigars, and great live music.
All over the facility, one could try over 150+ different brews. Unlike going to breweries and getting a small sample size of your favorite alcohol, a person could get a full cup and enjoy. By the time a person gets to their third full cup, it would be wise to tell the pour-er to give you a half cup.
From the time that you walk into the Masquerade, you are bombarded with the aroma of the food that are located around the facility. The all-volunteered staff and Masquerade employees were very friendly and helped point in the direction of where a person wanted to go.
One of my recommendations would be Single Wide which is an IPA made by the Boulevard Brewing Company which is based out of Missouri. With six different varieties of hops, this is among one of favorite brews that I tried during the festival.
The live music kept people entertained during the duration of the festival. Each room inside of the Masquerade and outside had live music ranging from acoustic to even a DJ spinning the 1’s and 2’s. There was a point where even the DJ had a whole dance floor rocking to the mixes.
Overall, it was a great day to hang out with some of Atlanta’s beer enthusiasts and even great to run into old friends who I did not expect to see there. For it to be in the middle of January, the weather felt like a late fall afternoon.
Be sure to mark on your calendar that the Hog & Hops will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 from 1:00pm-5:00pm at the Masquerade.
Once again, another successful day of brews and good time at the Atlanta Winter Beerfest. Be sure to follow @ATLBeerFest on Twitter, follow @AtlantaBeerFestivals on Instagram, Like their page on Facebook, and visit the official website to stay updated on upcoming Beer Festivals.
