Hey Woodstock! Joella’s Hot Chicken will officially open doors Tuesday, October 29.
This Southern fast-casual restaurant specializes in delicious chicken and friendly customer service. They will hold a ribbon-cutting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at its first Cherokee County location at 188 Molly Lane in Woodstock. According to the Joella’s website, the restaurant is scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m.
The first 100 visitors to the Woodstock location will receive “free hot chicken for a year.”
The lucky 100 will be awarded their free chicken for a year cards at 8 a.m., and they must have a valid, government-issued ID on hand? The DJ will begin at 4:30 a.m. and chicken and waffles and coffee will follow, all before 8 a.m.
If you’re not among the earliest to arrive, there are more giveaways: everyone waiting in line on opening day will receive free chicken and waffles and coffee, as well as Joella’s merchandise.
Joella’s is known for hot chicken with varying heat levels, from Southern (no heat) to “Fire-In Da-Hole,” which the restaurant says is “waiver-worthy.” They also serve Southern made-from-scratch side dishes like creamy mac and cheese, green beans with bacon and parmesean fries. Among its desserts are a pie-in-a-jar available in cookies and cream, strawberry shortcake and a seasonal flavor. If you love craft sodas like I do, it’s the only restaurant I know of with a Craft Soda Bar.
This new Woodstock location is the old Pollo Tropical right on Molly Lane on the road next to the popular Kohl’s department store.
Joella’s Hot Chicken is based in Louisville, Kentucky and reports it will have 17 stores by the end of 2019. The Woodstock location is the third Joella’s in Georgia, following Kennesaw and Cumberland.
