Earlier this year, heritage American tennis brand K-Swiss introduced a collection of limited edition footwear in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. This season, the brand partners with Japanese street fashion label AAPE BY A BATHING APE® to launch K•Swiss x AAPE, a collaboration bringing the infamous ape-infused camouflage pattern to the footwear brand’s most iconic silhouette – the Classic ’66 – for a December 15, 2016 release in the U.S.
K-Swiss x AAPE collaboration launches tomorrow, Dec. 15. The collection will be available at Wish boutique in Atlanta, along with other retailers across the US.
The Classic ‘66 model was originally introduced in 1966 as one of the first leather tennis shoes debuted in the majors. This year we are bringing back this iconic silhouette with the exact specifications and design of the original model, featuring the iconic five stripes, classic D-rings, unique three-piece toe design as well as the original shield logo branding. The all-over printed AAPE signature camouflage sets the tone of this Classic 66, along with the iconic AAPE BY A BATHING APE® branding on one of the stripes. Other design details include the AAPE logo stamp on heel counter, woven tongue label, as well as cobranded sock liner in camo print. The K•Swiss x AAPE collaboration style is a perfect blend of the two brands’ DNA.
K•Swiss x AAPE is available for pre-order exclusively at AAPE Tmall Flagship from Oct 3, 2016. Retailing for $140, the official U.S. launch will be on Dec. 15, 2016 at key premium sneaker shops and retail stores throughout major cities, including Atmos (NYC), West (NYC), Urban Outfitters (NYC), Wish (Atlanta), DTLR (Baltimore) and Villa (Philadelphia).
