Recently in Marietta, a man was arrested for shoplifting from a local pawnshop, but it didn’t go down how you’d think.
The police department in Marietta decided to have a little fun as well by posting a note to the thief on their Facebook page. Clearly it wasn’t his first time trying this out, and I’m sure he’ll reconsider after this embarrassing turn of events.
Check out the post below:
“A request to the gentleman who shoplifted from one of our local pawn shops today.
Sir, you must have forgot that you gave the clerk your driver’s license with ALL of your personal information as well as providing him with your fingerprint when completing the pawn ticket before you stole from him, which, by the way was also all on camera. Please at least try to hide. The judge has already signed the warrant. When you make it this easy it takes all the fun out of chasing bad guys!
Regards,
Marietta Police Evening Watch”
It’s one thing to be caught on camera, but forgetting your license and leaving the thumbprint at the shop is just mental. Some people are just not cut out for the life of crime.
Only a day after, the Marietta Police Department took to social media again and posted another hilarious statement about the shoplifter. Using a sarcastic tone, they stated that they found and arrested the man with little to no effort. The chase was short, and they also found his drugs and stolen goods.
“An update to yesterday’s shoplifter,
Fortunately (for us) he turned out to be just as bad at hide & seek as he is at stealing. He was picked up by our Morning Watch Officers after a search, it was quite short…. We also found all of his drugs and the stolen property he took from the pawn shop! He is currently being watched over by the Deputies at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center!”
Dale Jonathan Tice, identified by the police, was arrested at a nearby motel.
