For the better part of a decade, Sandy Springs has been a barren desert of restaurants- many charging big city prices and getting average reviews. That leads to the inevitable openings and closings as eateries try to establish a foothold on a part of Atlanta where dining should be an enjoyable experience.
One oasis among the new developments, shopping centers and apartment buildings of Sandy Springs is Maya Steaks & Seafood.
With quite possibly is the best dining experience I’ve ever had in Sandy Springs, owner and Chef, Mimmo Alboumeh, has brought influences from Europe and the Middle East to your table here in Metro Atlanta and the mix of cultures brings perfection to your palate.
Chef Mimmo also has always made it a point to give back, and that is exactly what is happening through May 10, 2017.
Dine at Maya Steaks & Seafood on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs on Wednesdays between February 22nd and May 10th 2017 in support of Second Helpings Atlanta! Call ahead (404-705-8880) to reserve the Chef’s Table for Second Helpings, or make your reservation for 2 to 8 persons through Open Table. Chef Mimmo of Red Pepper Taquería is now making his magic happen at Maya. Named after his youngest daughter, the menu at Maya offers a variety of creative American steak and seafood dishes with Chef’s signature Spanish flair. A quiet and relaxed atmosphere gives an old-fashioned classic steakhouse feel, but with modern touches. Maya also features a curated wine list with over 40 wines by the glass and original cuts of meat from renowned meat purveyor, Iowa Premium Black Angus. That Iowa Premium Black Angus may be the key, as steaks appeared to be popular choices on a recent Saturday night. With your filet or ribeye juicy and cooked perfectly, and a variety of sides including Local Grits and Idiazabal Cheese, Potato Puree and Truffle Mac and Cheese, you head will spin at the dizzying array of options. Seafood is also front at center at Maya, and one of their specials on that Saturday night was a filet and lobster.
With attentive and knowledgeable service, Maya Steaks & Seafood, along with their inspirational menu, stands out from the crowded restaurant and dining landscape in Sandy Springs. Give the valet your keys and enjoy, while giving to a great cause.
