It’s not every day that you hear an Atlanta Hawks player added to the Team USA camp.
With Kevin Love and Blake Griffin withdrawing from Team USA this summer, there is a need for big men. The talent for big men, especially in the 4th position, also know as Power Forward, is young but very talented. There is a need for veteran presence on the team for the FIBA World Cup in September.
According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, Paul Millsap is a late invitee to Las Vegas to attend the Team USA camp. He will attend the camp with fellow teammate Kyle Korver this summer.
Just got word: Hawks' Paul Millsap has been invited to Team USA camp in Vegas. Surprise but sensible addition after frontcourt withdrawals

Last summer, Millsap was regarded as one of the best value signings in the league when the Hawks signed him for 2-years/$19M. During the season, he averaged 17.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 74 game for a injury-plagued Hawks team. The Hawks then made it as the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.
Millsap will provide a solid piece in the paint for Team USA and is also a very dangerous offensive weapon. He can step in as the Stretch-4, play on the inside and snag offensive boards.
