What did we do to appease the music gods this year!?
Piedmont Park’s Music Midtown seems to bring a strong lineup every year to their September music festival, but this year holds strong with their heavy set of headliners as well as second and third tier acts. Although it is a large spread of genres, it will cater to the masses in that area, from the families to young people to the young at heart.
Starting in 1994, the festival has showcased some of the country’s biggest acts. Notable acts through the years include Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Zac Brown Band. Following a five year hiatus in 2005, the festival founders hit the ground sprinting bringing heavy hitting acts to the park, making Atlanta a top festival spot in the United States.
Some notable acts: Elton John, Drake, Billy Idol, Van Halen, Hozier, Run the Jewels, Tove Lo, Icona Pop, New Politics and X Ambassadors. Just to name a few! Acts range from world renowned to our local favorites, including Sir Elton John, who has a house in Buckhead (bonus points if you can find it!). The festival will include a fourth stage this year, meaning there will be even more music to enjoy during the two day event.
There are still more acts to be announced. So keep an eye on your Facebook, Twitter, or here! We’ll be previewing different artists before the festival, which is set for September 18th-19th. Check out the full announcement video below, which launched literally an hour ago. If the acts to be announced are anything like the acts that have been announced already, we will not be disappointed.
Tickets go on Sale on June 27th, you can check out their website at www.musicmidtown.com.
