Long time TNT sideline reporter and Georgia resident Craig Sager is a living legend. This is not just my opinion ladies and gentlemen. This is a fact.
Basketball is a game where the athletes are celebrated for their talent, skill, teamwork, IQ, leadership, endurance, sheer determination and a plethora of other things. The end goal in the minds of us fans is to see it all manifest in a championship trophy for our favorite team.
In a sense, Craig is not only a sideline reporter, he is a star player on the TNT roster/NBA family and exhibits all these attributes. I haven’t even mentioned his trademarked suits. They have been providers of moments of laughter and many times flat out befuddlement. However, his fashion sense is completely unique to him and are unrivaled in sports media.
Sager has recently been battling leukemia, which has sidelined him for months at a time. Through this rough period in his life, he has remained a beacon of hope and reminded the world to stay Sager Strong. Craig and his Sager Strong Foundation are now in the forefront of leukemia awareness and fighting the disease itself.
Nike has teamed up with the Sager Strong foundation to create some DOPE Air Force Ones. Craig himself designed these wonderful and flamboyant (wouldn’t be any other way) sneakers via an exclusive NIKEiD. Only 100 pairs have been created and they will be auctioned off to the public. Portions of all proceeds will be donated to the Sager Strong Foundation to continue the fight against leukemia. Bidding will begin at 7 P.M. on October 25 and end on November 4.
