Yesterday authorities announced that a Georgia police officer shot and killed a man they said fired a shotgun in the officers’ direction.
Peachtree City police say officers responded to call Wednesday afternoon to a report of a father and son fighting inside the home.
Once police arrived they say 67-year old William Dean was armed with a shotgun in the driveway. Police said Dean fired the shotgun in the officers’ direction and Sgt. James Harris then shot him with a police rifle, killing him.
The GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) is reviewing the circumstances of the shooting. Authorities did not specify the race of Dean or the officers.
