Earlier today, Atlanta Hawks EVP, Brand and Innovation & Chief Creative Officer Peter Sorckoff was recognized as a member of the Technology Association of Georgia’s Game Changers – Sports Technology list. Members of the 12-person list were chosen due to an “excellent record of success, game-changing achievements in their discipline/industry and dedication to Georgia’s Tech community.”
“This is an outstanding honor for Peter and our organization,” said Steve Koonin, CEO, Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena. “Peter works tirelessly to lead an innovative team of professionals who keep our company on the cutting edge and provide value to our fans and partners.”

Sorckoff was instrumental in the installation of the Hawks’ state-of-the-art 3D video mapping court projection system, a technological tool that has revolutionized the fan experience at Philips Arena. The club has worked to integrate its corporate partners into the projector’s presentations, allowed fans to participate via their mobile devices, and incorporated sound visualization and motion-sensing camera technology for real-time graphic interaction with performers on the floor.
This year’s class includes, among others, executives from the College Football Hall of Fame, Comcast Business and Turner Sports. The members were recognized at an unveiling event for Hub Magazine, a publication of the Technology Association of Georgia.
