What do President Frank Underwood (Kevin Specey) and baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. have in common?
You are about to find out.
One lucky person will get the chance to join House of Cards star Kevin Spacey and baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. to fly to Washington D.C. and join the duo for the D.C. Confidential Experience, all while giving back to two great causes.
Thanks to Prizeo, the D.C. Confidential experience offers one winner and a guest a chance to dine with both all-stars and attend UNDER THE LIGHTS: Stories of Hollywood, Baseball, The Journey to the Top and Giving Back, which will be held on September 28th, 2015 at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington D.C. The evening will consist of musical entertainment, surprise special guests, and a lively retrospective on the Hall of Fame and Academy Award-winning careers of the two living legends. In exchange for a $5 donation, fans will be automatically entered for a chance to win. Each donation also offers a variety of prizes, such as a signed, personalized ball and bat form Cal Ripken. All donations will benefit The Kevin Spacey Foundation which aims to train, support and mentor emerging artists in the performing arts and film and The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, which uses baseball/softball-themed programs to help build character and teach critical life lessons to underserved youth residing in America’s most distressed communities.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to not only rub elbows with two big names, but also learn from them.
“When I was a young actor starting out, I met actor Jack Lemmon who became my mentor,” said Spacey. “He impressed upon me the importance of always “sending the elevator back down” in order to help those who are just starting out. This is the basis for which I formed the Kevin Spacey Foundation, to raise funds in support of emerging talent in the arts and help provide them with opportunities. Cal and I partnered with Prizeo because our goals are likeminded, and we wanted to give someone the opportunity to take part in something special. The donation made will be an important contribution to both our causes.”
Ripen Jr. has stayed active in baseball, softball and other sports since he ended his Hall of Fame career.
“The growth of the foundation since we formed it in 1999 has been tremendous and today we are helping underserved kids throughout the country with programming and by building our Youth Development Parks,” said Cal Ripken Jr. “You can do some terrific things on your own but great partnerships is how you really get top the next level. We are thrilled to be partnering with the Kevin Spacey Foundation on this very fun and unique event and utilizing the talents of the folks at Prizeo will help insure that people are aware of this terrific event and we raise significant funds to help kids in need.”
