Raury will be a star, if he’s not already.
Raury, one of Atlanta’s newest artist, dropped his highly-anticipated project Indigo Child. Raury has a unique sound in his music. With a mix of soul, folk, rap, gospel, and of course indie. After wowing the world with “God’s Whisper” which was also featured in the movie Lucy, he continued with the visuals of “Cigarette Song.” He became one of the most talked about artists with a limited amount of work.
From the likes of Kanye wanting to meet him to other artist and music critics raving about him, Raury has created such a name for himself.
At midnight on August 25th, Raury dropped Indigo Child and it did not disappoint. Dropping it a month before he opens for Outkast on the 27th of September at the ATLast festival, Raury will be on full display for his city along side Atlanta’s own Childish Gambino and Cleveland’s Kid Cudi.
The music on Indigo Child is among some of the most genuine and real music I have heard lately from an Atlanta artist. So real that the interludes on this album are actual arguments that Raury had with his mother had that he recorded. From the arguments, you can see that they are disputing on Raury on his decision on dropping school to focus on his music. That is the backbone of the album and what make ultimately drove him to press on in his music.
Go download Indigo Child and see what the genre-mashing hype is all about. I assure you that this debut project will not disappoint!
