As you may know already Atlanta rapper/actor/comedian, Donald Glover is getting ready to premiere his new FX series, “Atlanta” for the masses. Yesterday, FX featured a commercial right after the smash series, “The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story” ended.
After the gripping end of the series that showed Simpson being found not guilty of a double homicide, a commercial showing three stoned young men immediately aired. As the camera panned out, Gambino is seen sitting on the couch briefly explaining to his boy that the O.J. story was not fiction before the title Atlanta flashed across the screen. The comic relief was welcome after an intense 90-minute episode and gave a sneak peak at the characters in the upcoming series.

Atlanta will focus on Earnest “Earn” Marks (Gambino) who returns to Atlanta after failing to make a career out of his artistic aspirations. Once he returns, Marks discovers that his cousin, Paperboy, has become ATL’s new big act. Gambino spoke with Deadline as to why he decided to get involved with a show centered in Atlanta.
The series is set to premiere a 10-episode run this year. Check out the promo and footage below.
