University of Georgia Police said they found a suitemate in a locked UGA dorm room dead Tuesday evening.
Police said that at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday, they received a call from university housing officials, indicating that students were concerned about a suitemate in Vandiver Hall.
Officers went to the room, and after not receiving a response when knocking, used a key to gain entry. They found him dead inside the room.
UGA Police chief, Jimmy Williamson, stated that obvious foul play is not suspected at the time.
The family of the deceased student has been notified, but police will not release the name of the student until tomorrow afternoon. We will update as more info is released.
UPDATE: Wednesday morning, they identified the student as 21-year-old David Peacock Braun of Marietta.
Braun’s body was taken by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death
