Fish are awesome. Superheroes are awesome. So, when the Georgia Aquarium decided to put these two things together – they knew exactly what they were doing.
The Georgia Aquarium has deemed this coming Saturday – March 7th – as Superhero Day. This means that all children 12 and under who come dressed as their favorite superhero (or even a superhero they made up!) will receive free admission into the aquarium as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.
But wait, the details…
Be sure you’re there early so you can reap the full benefits of this experience – including the special activities that will take place in the atrium from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. These activities will consist of a make-your-own superhero mask, games, photo stations, and even some real superhero appearances.
Once you’re done with that, you can take your child to the AT&T Dolphin Tales show – their ticket will be complimentary with their admission to the aquarium, but unfortunately, us adults still have to pay (wouldn’t it be nice if we were all still 12 years old?). The Dolphin Tales show is an experience like none other. No matter where in the facility you choose to sit, you’ll have a great view of this wonderful musical performance. Speaking from experience, the show is breathtaking – especially if you love dolphins and marvel at dolphin tricks as much as I do. With that being said, if you have a very young child, you may not want to take them to this exhibit – lots of loud noises, bright lights, etc. However, if you’re going to get your child in for free – it might be worth checking it out.
Alright. Let’s say you’ve just finished watching the Dolphin Tales show, and you realized you sat just a little too close as you were splashed by the dolphin’s waves, and now you just want to take a break. Faculty at the Georgia Aquarium are trying extra hard to accommodate everyone for this special Saturday. So, with your child’s free admission into the aquarium, they also have a guaranteed ticket to see Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow – a “4D” movie shown in a special 4D theatre that features special animation and visual effects to make it feel like you’re “really there” as you accompany Deepo through his underwater adventure.
So, if you’re one of those people that can appreciate fish and superheroes, you won’t want to miss this special occasion. I’m sure adults are welcome to dress up as well, but you won’t be getting in for free like the kids – just another thing that sucks about growing up, right? However, you will be able to bring your kids, grandkids, nephews and nieces, etc. and save an extra $30.00 that you would be spending on their tickets if it was just any other Saturday.
See you there!
