Freshman defensive back, Chad Clay has been kicked off UGA’s football team and honestly his career was over before it began.
Chad Clay was arrested last night (Wednesday) for the second time since arriving to the campus, this time for stealing.
The arrest stemmed from an incident in which another student reported his Apple headphones, valued at $30, as being stolen while left unattended in the Ramsey Center. He was also arrested back in April with Julian Rochester.
Georgia’s new head coach Kirby Smart announced his dismissal Wednesday:
“Unfortunately, Chad will no longer be a part of our football program” Smart said in a statement. “It is very disappointing, and we wish him the best in his efforts to continue his education.”
Clay was a three-star signee in the Dawgs’ latest signing class and committed to UGA over scholarship offers from Clemson, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, among others.
