The Atlanta Police Department has released video footage of the smash-and-grab at the Foot Locker on Metropolitan Parkway in Southeast Atlanta. About 15 people broke into an athletic shoe store early Monday morning and got away with clothing and shoes.
At about 2:50 a.m., police said a security guard working at a nearby business noticed a Dodge Intrepid slam into the front of Foot Locker on Metropolitan Parkway. About 15 people then entered the store and stole clothing and shoe items.
The getaway vehicle appeared to be a dark red Chevy pickup truck with a noticeable light bar on the back end. The abandoned Dodge Intrepid was reported stolen out of Clayton County. Some business owners in the area said they are fed up. Antonio Davis, the owner of the Hair Zone next door, said it’s not the first time the Foot Locker has been hit.
“They drove a truck right through the front window, so it’s real unfortunate,” Davis said. “I am about to move my business in the next couple of days.”
