Annual event benefits Bert’s Big Adventure.
Atlanta Moon Ride, the first night cycling event of its kind to be introduced to the city, returns on Friday, June 7 for its seventh annual ride. The festivities will kick-off with the ride’s signature pre-party in Piedmont Park at 7 p.m., followed by a lively seven-mile bike ride at 11 p.m. alongside the Atlanta Police Department. This years route has riders passing through the Virginia-Highland neighborhood which is home to numerous bars, restaurants and spectator events. Everyone is encouraged to ride with flair – dressing in costumes, decorative helmets and glow sticks – anything goes!
Participants gearing up for Atlanta Moon Ride are encouraged to start their own fundraisers to raise money for local nonprofit, Bert’s Big Adventure. Each rider that creates a fundraiser as an individual or as part of a team will be eligible for amazing prizes including two round-trip domestic flights from JetBlue Airways, four tickets to an Atlanta United home match with customized jerseys, a night out with Fur Bus, a group outing to Topgolf and so much more!
The proceeds from the Atlanta Moon Ride will support the work of local charity, Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit organization that provides a magical, all-expenses-paid, five-day journey to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families. Since 2013, Atlanta Moon Ride has raised over $250,000 for this wonderful cause.
Leading up to the night of the event, presenting sponsor, CapTech, will launch the official Atlanta Moon Ride app providing exclusive access to 2019 event details including the route map, event schedule and a live streamed DJ for attendees to listen to together during the ride. The app will be available for download in the iTunes store and on Google Play.
Ride registration is a $35 charity donation and includes a highly sought-after Atlanta Moon Ride t-shirt. The outdoor kick-off party will include live music from headlining band, Blair Crimmins and The Hookers. Additional featured sponsors include JUMP, Subaru of Gwinnett, Atlanta United, Fontis Water, Monster Energy, The Color Spot, Tito’s, FurBus, Motor Cars of Atlanta, Topgolf and JetBlue Airways.
VIP accommodations are available for $95 per ticket and includes entry into a private, tented area with catering, VIP bike valet, private check-in, seating and air-conditioned bathrooms. A VIP bar will offer signature Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktails.
