If you’re not familiar with Yik Yak it’s basically a social local bulletin board where college students share their views an opinions of the things that are happening around them. To be honest though, people use the app to post gossip anonymously because anybody can download the app and post whatever they feel like. Users can also rate the “Yaks” that they read anonymously with a +1, -1, point system.
Unfortunately, Kennesaw State students have been abusing the app for racist hate-filled statements. Below is a screenshot provided by Kennesaw’s NAACP’s Facebook page displaying the comments after a pool party thrown by black students at an apartment complex called West 22.
