Shoes are not THAT serious!
This past weekend an armed robbery spilled into a Gwinnett County iHop all over a pair of Nike Jordan Concord 11’s.
Patch reports:
They agreed to meet in the parking lot of the IHOP restaurant on Scenic Highway, where the victim came up to a tan SUV with three males inside. The incident happened around 4 p.m. Feb. 28.
He gave one of the suspects the pair of shoes he was trading and was given one of the shoes offered in return to try on.
After he tried on the shoe, he looked up and saw one of the males point a gun at him and demand the shoe be returned. “No, you’ll have to shoot me,” the victim said and walked away, according to the incident report.
The victim went inside the restaurant to sort out what to do next, the report stated. As he sat in the waiting area of the restaurant, he decided to call his mother, and while he was on the phone with her, two of the males came inside, including the suspect with the gun.
They walked up to the victim and the male with the gun, who had it tucked under his shirt, demanded the shoe and “all of his money,” according to the incident report. “I don’t have any money,” the victim reportedly said.
The victim threw the shoes at the suspects, who then ran out the door.
No immediate arrests were made, but the restaurant had surveillance video of the suspects and police were investigating.
